Sony unveils Xperia Tablet Z
Sony has just announced the Xperia Tablet Z, a 0.27 inch (6.9mm) thick tablet. The tablet is going to be 10.1 inches which seems to be the perfect size.
Following on from the unveiling of its impressive Xperia Z smartphone at CES in Las Vegas, Sony has expanded its new offering’s by revealing a brand-new 10.1-inch flagship Xperia Z tablet.
The Japanese company is far from being a big player in the tablet market, and suffered embarrassment using its last release (the Xperia
S tablet) when devices were recalled as a result of flaw in the splash-proof design. With the Xperia Z tablet, however, Sony has come up with something that is every bit as impressive since it’s smartphone sibling.
Like the five-inch device, the Xperia Z tablet is both waterproof and dustproof and comes full of Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM. Within the looks department, the tablet is really as impressive as anything currently around the market – just 6.9mm in thickness and coming in at 495 grams – and it has a large advantage over market rivals from Apple and Google for the reason that a microSD expansion card slot is supplied alongside 32GB of internal storage. The ten.1-inch tablet also comes with a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel display, an 8.1-MP camera, and both NFC and LTE support. Such as the other Xperia Z devices, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean may be the chosen operating system, with Sony’s own UI skimmed over the very best.
Let’s look at the specification for the new Xperia Tablet Z:
- 10.1 inch WUXGA Display with 1920 x 1200 resolution
- Qualcomm 1.5GHz Quad-core processor combined with 2GB RAM
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS
- 8.1 megapixel Exmor R rear facing camera
- 2.2 megapixel front facing camera
- 32GB internal storage, plus MicroSD card slot
- WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 2G / 3G / 4G LTE Connectivity, NFC
- 6,000 mAh Battery
- 226mm x 172mm x 6.9mm and just 495g in weight
- Dust-proof and water resistant as much as 1 metre for 30 minutes at a time
- Available in black or white
The design follows exactly the same cues as the Xperia Z smartphone, because it should. It’s a minimal design with rather sharp corners along with a large bezel. Also, when we’re on the subject of appearance, you will be able to obtain this tablet in either a black or perhaps a white version. For a 10-inch screened tablet the Xperia Tablet Z is extremely thin and light, as you can see in the table above, it’s just 6.9mm thick and weighs about 495g. This is probably a good thing for portability and luxury for holding it for very long periods.
